Bridal trends Spring/ Summer 2020

February 25, 2020

Here is our guide to wedding dress trends this Spring/ Summer. From the weird to the wonderful and everything in between!..

The ballgown- This shape has been around for years but this year it's particularly prominent. Off the shoulder, full lace, applique flowers or a simple duchess satin, they all work well on this cut and its beautifully flattering on pretty much any body shape too! YEY!

Show some leg-  The short wedding dress is back which is great for a relaxed, city or small wedding.  If your legs are your best asset and you don't want to cover them with a long dress but you still want the full gown effect maybe consider a split.

The blushing bride-  The traditional wedding dress is white or ivory but this season we have all the colours of the rainbow. Champagne, blush, oyster, grey and even greens and blues are hitting the isle!

 The Farnham Boutique

The 80s are back-  Tiers, frills and puffy sleeves are all big trends this year (although not all in one dress!).  This look isn't for everyone but if you want to make a statement this is your chance!

Minimal- Think clean, white crepe or satin beautifully cut and with a sleek silhouette. This look is timeless and works well if you want to show off your figure rather than the dress.

Underwear is outerwear-  Visible corsetry is a great way of having a traditional cut with a modern twist. It can have a sexy look with sheer panels in between the corsetry or it can be made with a heavy floral lace look.

The bridal cape- If you have a simple dress this is a great way of jazzing it up. The cape can be worn for the ceremony and then removed to reveal a fabulous party dress to dance the night away in.
